Bakersfield........ took that drive yesterday, to say good-bye to
someone I have known it seems all my life at least since I was a little
girl of 5/6 yrs old.. We would play together so much day after day we
would have to take a break because we were exhausted and started
fighting... We dreamed of growing old together, marrying each others
brothers.... Thought we always would live across the street from one
another, boy how life played games with us.. little did we know that
her 12 and me 10 we would not see one another for years to come...
reconnecting is an interesting thing for people but not with Shelly and
I, we still had our memories of our time as kids. They were one of the
brightest and most special times of our lives! We always had a bond it
did not matter how many years went by 6, 10, we picked up like no time
had past!
All the memories keep coming! Roller Town
skating to Bryan Adams, Duran Duran and all the other 80's music we
loved, the Valley Plaza-Swedish fish, the many bike rides around the
neighborhood, night-time hide and seek with all the kids in the
neighborhood, the walks to school until she had to go to Jr High,
Barbies and more Barbies she had the best toys!! The sheet and blanket
tents we built with our brothers throughout there whole house. Swimming
in our pool.. Our favorite memory was when Shelly and I walked in the
rain to 31 flavors got ice cream ate it in the rain all the way back
home we sat in the puddles one of us even dropped our ice cream in the
water and put it back on the cone and ate it haha. We even were
partners in crime a couple times and learned you get caught so don't do
it!! haha!!
Her and I are what you call friends forever... a treasure!
Shelly in the grass skirt and myself in the blue skirt in my back yard...
The second to the last time to see my dear childhood friend...
